I retired from an Environmental Science/Technology career in 2016. Since then, I have spent my time between travel with my wife, playing with my grandkids, creating metal sculptures, astronomy, and backpacking with friends.
I enjoyed art when I was in elementary and middle school. In high school and college, I focused on Biology and Chemistry studies.
My art is inspired by my growing up in New Mexico and Arizona. I was fascinated with the ancient cultures that lived there as well as by the Native American residents and customs still to be experienced. There is something spiritual to me in the beautiful desert, mountains, and wide open skies of the Southwest. Most impactful was the four years I lived on the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona where my father was Comptroller for the Navajo Tribe.
I use found metal pieces, aluminum from melted aluminum cans, and bronze lost wax casting to make my sculptures.
